Have you ever thought about this?

Medical ProfesionalsToo often, I find people just like you and I just going through our daily routines as private practice owners thinking that we should be doing this, we should be doing that—without ever consciously asking ourselves why.

And, as you probably know, this can be an absolute recipe for disaster. The reason for this is because too often we don’t take adequate time to question our overall practice design and objectives.

Just like any area of life, a better picture and a clearer vision of our ideal practice goes a long way toward making our days go more smoothly—leaving the office feeling rewarded, rather than frustrated.

And having consulted with hundreds of private practice owners, I can tell you this: the more frequently you engage in the overall design of your practice, the closer you will come to obtaining a dream practice. So what is a dream practice for you?

Of course, the answer will be different for everybody. For me, is the ability to maintain a lifestyle choice, as well as financial freedom.

At the same time, I like to be challenged. So I always have filled my practice with very challenging patients. Because I find the harder patients push me, the harder I push myself.

This has also put me in a place of tremendous value to my community over the years, especially now in a difficult private practice environment. This is something I’m not shy about in my marketing, with my staff, and with my referral professionals.

But what is dream practice for you?

If you can’t answer this very easily, I suggest you spend some quiet time immediately, putting together answers for this very important question.

And it’s perfectly okay for your vision to change over time. My certainly has, as should yours.

Isn’t that, after all, what you have chosen private practice as opposed to public health care?

Whatever it is for you, the final vision should be so clear you could describe it in vivid detail.
