It’s time we take private practice back to the basics.
If you’ve been on social media and a lot of places on the web lately, you probably already get the gist of what this article is about. Things have just turned into a free for all, it seems. Anyone and everyone can jump on the internet and multiple social media platforms and claim to be anyone or anything.
Unfortunately, there are many of those individuals who take advantage of readers. This, in turn, can affect how people see legitimate businesses as well.
It’s sad to say it’s necessary to have to reiterate that foundational practices are necessary. Anyone who indicates you can get by without a business foundation is nothing more than a shyster. Don’t listen to them.
There are basic principles necessary to accomplish a solid foundation. Beyond the brick and mortar, the staff, the equipment and supplies, there are a few critical components to accomplishing real success. Now the first thing everyone wants to know is, “what are they?”
What Are the Success Principles of Private Practice?
Bringing a business back to the basics is sometimes difficult. However, if the initial foundation is not laid based on a shared mission and vision, honesty, and principled care, there will not be success. That is, until you get back to the basics.
If you don’t already have a mission statement and a written vision, now is the time. This is a visual reminder of why you and your team do what you do. This is what you accomplish when you can’t do anything else. The fulfillment of a good mission and vision is why your patients will come to you.
Though there are more critical components such as marketing, the web, social media, etc., without the mission and vision, you shouldn’t even open the doors.
So, in our first article on business back to the basics, we highly recommend you develop a mission and vision, if you don’t already have one. If you do have one, review it to make sure it captures your essence correctly.
