Private Practice Owners Secret Weapon: Time!

Private Practice owners must make the most out of your own planning and business development schedules.

It has been said and written about for centuries, all any of us have is time. And for private practice owners’ time is indeed income. That’s why patient flow, scheduling, staffing during peak patient hours is critical.

Anyone already successful knows these “hard” scheduled time facts are the easiest to master. They are straightforward, and as long as they are implemented a private practice will flourish.

But what really separates the masters is the ability to design and capture maximum use of their personal and business development time. In the corporate world some experts say average workers get just 45 minutes of real work done in a an 8 hour day due to constant interruptions.

Being truly effective in your own business requires proper hiring and staffing procedures, but most especially, making the most out of your own planning and business development schedules.

In reality this is where most private practice owners fail. Don’t let this be you; it does not have to be. Just by learning a few key strategies, you can drastically improve your income through simply developing every day better marketing and executive skills.

But to pull this off, you MUST have focused quiet blocks dedicated JUST to marketing and executive tasks where there are NO distractions! No phones, email or interruptions can be allowed to intrude into your environment. For most of us, this means first thing every day, and quite possibly mid-day breaks.

During marketing and executive time, vow to work off lists, and learn to work on a countdown timer. For example, I ask my students to limit social medial time intervals to 5 minutes at a shot. Without a timer, it’s too easy to get lost in meaningless trivia during the business day. Save that for weekends and nights off!

Once you begin to work regularly in this way, you be amazed at what you can accomplish!
